Dr. Bruce Powers has been a member of our core faculty since 2011. He completed his doctorate in Developmental Psychology at the University of Notre Dame in 1999 and has been teaching ever since. He helped Mount Olive College pilot their very first online courses and the transition to Walden was a natural one for him. Dr. Powers’ greatest passion is helping people discover and nurture their gifts so that they can experience fulfilling work and the joy of making a difference.
When asked about teaching online, Dr. Powers notes, “The online setting is a great equalizer. No one dominates the conversation and no one hides in the corner. Every person has an equal opportunity to share their opinions, and this creates some great opportunities for learning.” You may encounter Dr. Powers in PSYC 2001 Cross Cultural Psychology or PSYC 2005 Social Influences, and he is also active in our campus community and mentoring programs. He spends most of his time with his wife and three children, but also enjoys college football, a capella music, and travel.
